Immersive, captivating, and completely their own, Limbiq's unique spin on the Indie Pop sound has been crying out for an album since its inception in 2018. Now, with the trio’s debut album, titled 'Innocent Elephant' landing November 2021, the LP has the beautiful intricacies and eclecticism up on display for the world to hear.
Kicking off eight tracks of pure sonic smoothness and psychedelic funk emanating from the sounds of 'Lonely Robot', the track’s groovy riffs, entrancing vocal harmonies, and creative use of sampling set the stage for the quality that the rest of the album brings. As you delve further into the LP, the hypnotic backdrop of synths combined with in-the-pocket grooves in tracks like 'I Sea You' and 'My Love' forge a more upbeat vibe that wouldn’t go astray on a club dancefloor. Darker elements are woven in tastefully throughout the record, a technique that has become synonymous with Limbiq’s mystical sound. While on the topic of dynamism, 'Innocent Elephant' as a whole, pivots between funky arrangements and laid back grooves. From the more down-tempo, relaxed, and emotionally-charged melodies of '2.0' and 'Brighter Light', to the rhythm-forward sounds of 'Left & Right', as well as the likes of 'Kali', which elegantly resides somewhere between the two, the album is a truly incredible example of the shadowed and sultry sonic landscapes that Adrian, Sebastian, and Gilles are capable of.
